Publico, em seguida, um texto que me foi enviado pelo Prof. Joaquim Fidalgo: --------------------------- Betting on journalism blogs --------------------------- "An advocate of 'blogging' (Internet's very fast updating websites, most of the times a personal diary) put his money where his mouth is his week by betting about US$ 1,000 (Euro 1,100) that weblog journalism will overtake The New York Times website by 2007. Dave Winer, CEO of Userland.com, which produces blogging software, reckons that five years from now, more websites will link to a blog for the top stories of the day than the NY Times. Mr Winer believes that blogging is journalism "created for the love of writing". It allows journalists and members of the public to provide alternative angles on the news and to break out the "narrow" channels that constrain big publications. "Informed people will look to amateurs they trust for information they want," he claims. Punting in for traditional media is Martin Nisenholtz, CEO of New York Times Digital. Mr Nisenholtz counters that publishers like the Times can guarantee accurate, unbiased and coherent information and furthermore, that blogging is not a particularly new phenomenon: "The New York Times has been publishing individual points of view for 100 years"."
